Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has been a big proponent of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, and he recently answered the question we’ve all been asking: who wins a game of 1-on-1 between Luka Doncic and Dirk Nowitzki?
The mark cuban dallas mavericks is a team in the National Basketball Association. They are coached by Mark Cuban and have Dirk Nowitzki as their star player.
The NBA GOAT arguments are usually easy to win, but there’s a reason for that. It’s a lot of fun to speculate about who would win in a fight between LeBron James and Michael Jordan. Jordan vs. Kobe Bryant: Who Will Win? The most pleasant dream for Dallas Mavericks fans is to watch Luka Doncic play one-on-one with Dirk Nowitzki.
One franchise icon has already established himself as an all-time great, while the other is on his way to doing so. So, assuming both players were in their primes, who would win in a pickup game?
There will never be a clear solution to the ideal scenario, but no one is more equipped than Mark Cuban to resolve the argument, and the Mavs owner has chimed in with his choice.
Luka Doncic vs. Dirk Nowitzki: A Career-Long Battle

Dirk clearly has the advantage in most statistical categories because to his longevity. Doncic has only played three NBA seasons compared to Nowitzki’s 21.
However, when RealGM breaks things down even further, the No. 3 selection in 2018 comes out on top in certain categories.
In both the regular season and the playoffs, the German has a higher victory percentage. In 2011, he won the NBA title, was named MVP in 2007, was named to four All-NBA First-Teams, and was a 14-time all-star. With all of his professional achievements, he outperforms Doncic.
The Slovenian, on the other hand, was named Rookie of the Year in 2019, while Dirk struggled in his first NBA season.
This is when things start to get interesting statistically.
Although the 7-foot center has a higher career point total, Doncic has a season-high average of 27.7, while Dirk’s best season average is 26.6. Swaggy L, a 12-time All-NBA center, averaged 9.9 rebounds per game in his finest year at age 22, but he did it in only his 21st season.
In terms of assists, Doncic has a significant lead, while Nowitzki only has a.26 point advantage in PER over the 22-year-old. Luka also has higher career averages in rebounds, assists, and steals, but Dirk has a little advantage in overall shooting percentages.
In a one-on-one situation, Cuban thinks that the last statistic is more important than any other.
In the most important category, Cuban offers one player an advantage.

Both players are offensive superstars from previous generations. To put it mildly, neither of them are great athletes or lockdown defenders. In a 1-on-1 pickup game, though, shooting typically takes precedence over everything else, and the 2011 Finals MVP has that edge.
Cuban voted Dirk under normal pickup rules, where each basket counts as one point and the game is played to 11, win by two, on the 10 Questions With Kyle Brandt Podcast:
“I believe Dirk, because Dirk never misses.” In a one-on-one match, I believe I’d choose Dirk. Dirk couldn’t stop Luka, but Luka couldn’t stop Dirk, and Dirk is a superior shooter four years in.”
Mark Cuban on who would win a one-on-one match between Dirk Nowitzki and Luka Doncic at their peak.
It’s difficult to disagree with Cubes on this. Nowitzki has a lifetime shooting percentage of 47.1 percent overall and 38.0 percent from outside the arc. Doncic has 45.7 percent and 33.1 percent lifetime averages, respectively.
Dirk is also taller and longer than Luka, making it simpler for The Tall Baller from the G to get his shot off.
Doncic has taken over the Mavs franchise from Dirk.
Nowitzki is the best player in the history of the Dallas Mavericks. He spent his whole 21-year career with the Mavericks, winning Cuban’s lone title.
He has now entrusted Doncic with the reins of the company, both literally and figuratively, as the two-time all-star is on his way to become one of the best players in NBA history.
Doncic is a terrific fit for Cuban’s franchise. The objective now is to assemble a championship-caliber squad around a generational talent.
Dirk won his championship after 13 years and 11 playoff appearances. Hopefully, under the Reign of Luka Legend, things will go a bit faster for both Luka and Cuban.
